Containers are receptacles of standard design, used for international transportation of goods and are made in various dimensions and types.  If and when a shipper does not take up the entire space of a container, less than a container load and full container load choices are available.

Full Container Load (FCL): If the cargoes of one consignor are of large quantities and occupy the entire space of a container, FCL is applied. In this case a long term agreement may be signed with the consignor. When a FCL cargo arrives at a port, the consignor may transfer it to its warehouse or buy temporary bonded or non-bonded storage service from us.

Less Than a Container Load (LCL): If the cargo of one consignor does not occupy the entire space of a container, cargoes to be shipped to two or more consignees may be added in that container to provide partial shipment service. In this case the consignees’ customs brokers will check and take delivery of their cargoes after the container arrives at the relevant port of unloading.

FCL/LCL: Cargoes of two or more exporters are loaded in a single container and shipped to a single importer.

LCL/FCL: Cargoes of a single exporter are loaded in a single container and shipped to tqo or more importers.

FCL/FCL: A full container load is shipped by a single exporter to a single importer.

LCL/LCL: A partial cargo is loaded in a container and shipped by a single exporter to a single importer. 20 and 40 foot containers are the most commonly used. They are designed to carry different types of cargoes in a secure and efficient way. In addition to standard containers, there are special containers for large voluminous or heavy cargoes including high cube, open top and flat rack containers.  Dimensions and capacities of various types of containers are shown below.
